Steak crostini with blue cheese and Red Onion Confit/with video

Ingredients

  • 1 steak weighing approximately 250 grams
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 tbsp Callas Confiture Red Onion Confit
  • 100 gram blauwe kaas, verkruimeld
  • 12 slices of baguette or French loaf

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Sprinkle the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches the desired doneness. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest under aluminium foil.
  • Cut the steak into thin slices.
  • Place the slices of baguette on a baking tray and toast them in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, or until they are lightly crispy.
  • Spread a spoonful of red onion confit on each slice of baguette. Top with thinly sliced steak. Crumble the blue cheese over the top and serve!
