Steak crostini with blue cheese and Red Onion Confit/with video
Ingredients
1 steak weighing approximately 250 grams
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons of olive oil
4 tbsp Callas Confiture Red Onion Confit
100 gram blauwe kaas, verkruimeld
12 slices of baguette or French loaf
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Sprinkle the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches the desired doneness. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest under aluminium foil.
Cut the steak into thin slices.
Place the slices of baguette on a baking tray and toast them in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, or until they are lightly crispy.
Spread a spoonful of red onion confit on each slice of baguette. Top with thinly sliced steak. Crumble the blue cheese over the top and serve!
